Pre-buy Inspections

The old saying is, "Pay me now, or pay me later." If you are purchasing an airplane, before signing on the bottom line, you need to have a pre-purchase inspection. Have a mechanic do the following:

1. A/D research

2. Compression check

3. Log book inspection

4. Airframe inspection

The purchaser should also obtain a title search and a 337 search.

A diligent inspection can identify potential problems. Then, a list can be created so that the buyer can make an informed decision or negotiate a price adjustment to fix the problems.
